Donna J. Washburn, DNP, RN, APRN, AOCNS, ACNS-BC

Bio

Dr. Donna J. Washburn brings more than 30 years of nursing experience across inpatient, outpatient, and community health settings, including roles in clinical research management and corporate nursing administration, where she oversaw advanced practice and specialty nursing teams.

She is an Advanced Adult Health and Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist and has served as Affiliation Coordinator for the past year, working directly with clinical sites. She has extensive precepting experience, having served as a preceptor for APRN students and medical degree students, and she has taught at the university level since 2007.

She enjoys teaching nursing research and leadership courses, and in her free time at home, she enjoys time with children and grandchildren, knitting, gardening, cooking, and reading.

Dr. Washburn’s doctoral research project and most recent publications focused on barriers to treatment adherence in cancer patients. She remains active in clinical research for a worldwide research organization and serves on Regent University’s Institutional Review Board.
