Dr. Jamie Klemashevich is an assistant professor for Regent’s School of Psychology & Counseling. A born and raised Texan, she holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where she previously taught and supervised counseling students and developed a love for the counselor formation process. She also has experience working in the inpatient psychiatric setting with judicially committed patients, many of whom were criminal offenders.  In her practice, she primarily implements attachment-based theories to help clients form the connections with God, self and others in the healing processes. She draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Interventions, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, although she also uses EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other models depending on the client’s needs.

Klemashevich’s areas of research interest are trait narcissism in religious organizations and various aspects of counselor development, including facilitating an effective remediation process and spiritual formation in Christian counseling students.
