Meg Kelsey, J.D.
Bio
Professor Meg Kelsey is a Clinical Lecturer and the Director of the Center for Global Justice at Regent University School of Law. She founded and directs the Human Trafficking Clinic, Virginia’s only pro bono legal clinic providing representation to trafficking survivors in overcoming criminal justice barriers to reintegration. Under her leadership, the Clinic secured the Commonwealth’s first successful vacatur petition and has since expanded relief for survivors across multiple Virginia jurisdictions while providing students with pro bono legal practice and clinical skills.
Professor Kelsey also co-chairs the Virginia Coalition Against Human Trafficking (VCAHT) Legislative Workgroup on vacatur and expungement, and played a central role in drafting the expanded record-clearing laws for trafficking victims enacted in 2025 and 2026. She serves on multiple Human Trafficking Multidisciplinary Response Teams across the region.
Prior to joining Regent, Professor Kelsey served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk, Virginia, and practiced as counsel on nonprofit and civil matters.
Professor Kelsey holds a B.A. in Hispanic Studies, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was captain of the Varsity women’s soccer team, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she competed in moot court, was a Greenberg Traurig Foundation Fellow, and received the H.O.P.E. Public Interest Award for Exemplary Service to the Poor.
Meg and her husband, Scott, have two sons and attend Big House Church in Virginia Beach.
