Linda Baum, Ph.D.

Bio

Dr. Linda Baum is a licensed Psychologist and has served on the faculty at Regent’s School of Psychology & Counseling for more than a decade. Her role as Director of Clinical Training allows her to walk alongside students during each phase of their clinical training. Additionally, she directs the Society for Forensic and Assessment Psychology at Regent and loves the opportunities this provides in mentoring current students and collaborating with alumni.

Although Dr. Baum started college as an aerospace engineering major, she quickly learned that God had a different plan for her life. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology, she volunteered at a state hospital and worked full time at a research lab on campus. These experiences were foundational in creating a love for learning, mentorship, research, and advocacy.

In addition to the typical clinical curriculum required to earn her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Baum focused on developing skills in assessment, forensic psychology, and teaching. She moved to Virginia to complete a pre-doctoral internship as well as a post-doctoral fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She additionally completed forensic evaluator training at the Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.

Careful to maintain a good work-life balance, Dr. Baum is an active member of her church music ministry and is busy at home with two boys and two dogs. She enjoys spending her free time at the beach or on a hiking trail.
