Bio

Taylor Patterson is a licensed professional counselor and clinical supervisor. She earned a master’s degree in counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary and is a doctoral candidate in counselor education and supervision at Regent University. Patterson spent several years at a nonprofit agency serving survivors of interpersonal violence in both outpatient and residential programs. She now sees clients at a private counseling practice, treating adults with a history of childhood trauma. She has completed advanced training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and grief-informed counseling.

Patterson’s work is grounded in the belief that God meets people in their sorrow and wounds. She is also committed to training counselors and educators who reflect His character.

Her research interests include counselors’ in-session emotion regulation skills, secondary traumatic stress, and trauma prevention in faith communities. Patterson is co-editor of Skills for Safeguarding: A Guide to Preventing Abuse and Fostering Healing in the Church and has published and presented on trauma and compassion fatigue prevention.

Outside the classroom, Patterson enjoys spending time outdoors, watching college sports, and exploring new places while traveling.
