Students packing: Regent University students making a difference with Operation Blessing service

500 Regent Freshmen Step Up to Help Communities in Crisis

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (August 21, 2025) — In a powerful display of service and unity, 500 incoming freshmen at Regent University kicked off their college journey by volunteering with Operation Blessing to support disaster relief and hunger relief efforts across the country.

As part of Regent’s annual Welcome Week, students assembled approximately 1,200 hunger relief bags for local Hampton Roads residents. They also packed 3,480 hygiene kits and 2,000 disaster relief kits to be distributed by Operation Blessing’s Global Disaster Response team to communities impacted by hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, and other natural disasters.

“It’s a blessing to give back to the community and help those in need,” said Adam Williams, Dean of Students at Regent University. “These students are beginning their college experience by serving others. That’s a powerful example of our mission in action. Christian Leadership to Change the World is more than just our motto—it’s the heartbeat of our university.”

The event reflects Regent’s ongoing commitment to service and faith-driven impact, empowering students to make a difference from day one.
