Regent University Appoints Dr. Anna Ord as Assistant Provost for Graduate Studies
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Apr. 23, 2025) – Dr. Anna Ord, a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist, has been appointed Assistant Provost for Graduate Studies at Regent University. This new position, reporting to the Provost, is responsible for promoting quality standards, innovation, and policy development on the common aspects of a Regent education that impact graduate studies. Dr. Ord will also continue to serve as the Dean of the College of Health & Behavioral Sciences.
In her Assistant Provost role, Dr. Ord will oversee a graduate council consisting of leaders from academic units with graduate programs and will coordinate with other administrative personnel and offices to maintain and enhance the high standards for graduate education that have been the hallmark of Regent throughout its history. Dr. Ord will also represent Regent with the Council of Graduate Schools, an organization whose mission is the advancement of graduate education.
“Dr. Ord is particularly well suited for this calling,” said Dr. William L. Hathaway, Provost at Regent University. “Her key responsibility is not only promoting high quality graduate education at Regent, but especially promoting distinctively Christian education reflecting Regent’s call to training Christian leaders to change the world. Her faith, professional, and interdisciplinary journeys all reflect the ways in which God has been preparing her for this new area of responsibility.”
Dr. Ord has a remarkable Christian journey that she shared in an interview on The 700 Club with Regent’s founder, Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson.
In 2024, Regent appointed Dr. Joshua McMullen as Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Studies, serving a similar role over undergraduate education at Regent. Dr. McMullen and Dr. Ord will both work to ensure that the shared aspects of undergraduate or graduate education reflect the excellent, God-honoring mission for which Regent has been formed.
Dr. Ord holds a Doctor of Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. She completed post-doctoral clinical work in neuropsychology and an advanced post-doctoral fellowship in mental illness research and treatment at the Wake Forest School of Medicine and with the W. G. Hefner V.A.M.C. She also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University, an M.B.A. from Miami University, and B.B.A. from the Academic of National Economy in Moscow.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to accept the role of Assistant Provost for Graduate Studies,” said Dr. Ord. “I look forward to working alongside our administration, faculty, and staff to continuously support our graduate studies and strengthen the high-quality, Christ-centered academic experience offered at Regent University.”
