Regent University Presents Executive Leadership Series Featuring Distinguished CEOs

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Nov. 20, 2025) — On November 18, Regent University hosted its Executive Leadership Series (ELS) luncheon, one of the most respected leadership forums in Hampton Roads. The dynamic panel discussion featured some of the most highly esteemed executive leaders in Hampton Roads, who shared insights and strategies for leading with excellence.

“The Executive Leadership Series creates space where leaders can learn from each other, share challenges, and build relationships that make our entire region stronger,” said the Honorable Bobby Dyer, Mayor of Virginia Beach. “I’m so proud of the impact that the organizations represented here are making in Hampton Roads and beyond.”

ELS attendees heard from five of Hampton Roads’ most revered leaders in business:

  • G. Robert “Bob” Aston Jr., Founder and Executive Chairman of TowneBank;
  • Michael C. Creedon, Jr., CEO of Dollar Tree;
  • Dennis Matheis, President & CEO of Sentara;
  • Edith White, President & CEO of Hampton Roads Community Action Program; and
  • Gordon Robertson, CEO of Christian Broadcasting Network and Chancellor of Regent University.

Panelists engaged in a lively discussion with the moderator, the Honorable Robert MacDonald, Judge on the Chesapeake Circuit Court. With clarity, candor, and remarkable wisdom, the panelists discussed how to lead with excellence. The discussion revealed strategic insights about leadership, its responsibilities, its opportunities, and its impact. Attendees left feeling energized, encouraged, and equipped to lead with excellence.

The next ELS event, scheduled for February 24, 2026, will feature a TED Talk-style presentation by Dr. Jason Baker, Associate Provost & Senior Technology Strategist at Regent University. The presentation, titled “Riding the AI Wave: Turning Disruption into Distinction,” will inform and empower attendees with skills to harness AI’s disruptive force for competitive distinction.
