Singer Rita Springer Brings the Gift of Worship to Regent University

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Oct. 29, 2024) – Musicians, vocalists, techs, audio engineers, and other devote lovers of the Lord are still talking about the anointing that fell on this weekend’s worship leader seminar as well as the glorious Night of Worship concert, both led by gifted singer, songwriter, and worship artist Rita Springer at the Regent University Shaw Chapel.

“Rita Springer is a mother and general among worship leaders,” said Dr. Jeff Gossmann, Director of Campus Ministries at Regent. “She has poured out her life as a songwriter, worship leader and mentor for decades. Her intimacy with God and prophetic anointing usher in His presence and minister to congregations at a deep level. Regent was pleased to have such a respected artist and leader bless our campus.”

At the worship leader seminar held on Saturday, October 26, Springer shared on how encouraging others is the fuel for her worship ministry and she explained how authenticity before God in songwriting and worship is much more important than popularity.

“While we were learning new ways to enhance the quality of worship, the power of God took over,” said Arminda “Minda” Bates, a junior from Regent’s School of Government. “Rita Springer welcomed the Lord into the moment, and we had church. Her worship was just dripping with oil. I was honored to be present for this experience.”

She also insisted that a worshiper should thirst after the Lord, know God’s word, have a love for God’s people and that the heart of a worshiper be prioritized over technical ability.

The following evening at Regent University’s Shaw Chapel, Rita Springer took the Night of Worship concert into the throne room as she sat behind her keyboard and poured out her heart to God the Father.

Her intimate surrender compelled the congregation to join her in worship that rivaled that of the angels. It was a powerful ministry moment that left the people in the room—changed!

Bates added, “Regent was blessed by this weekend. This was an experience that I believe was truly marking in my walk with the Lord.”

“I really benefitted from the instruction, worship, fellowship, and prophetic ministry at Rita Springer’s events,” said Dikachi Opaigbeogu, Class of 2025, Honors College. “I can’t wait to share what I learned with peers and leadership at my home church.”

Rita Springer offered this mighty prophesy over Regent University and those in attendance:

I really believe that there is something powerful coming. I’ve been in this for a long time, and I haven’t felt this in a long time. I’ve been looking for it. I’ve been looking for it for years, and I know God’s doing stuff on university campuses, but there’s something deep here about worship and about songs that are supposed to come from this place, and creative expression that’s supposed to come to this place. I think and believe that the Lord has been speaking to me that the next great revival we will see is in the arts. So, there’s a generation of young people. You’re my favorite group. I don’t mean to ‘dis’ the older people, because it’s not a ‘dis’. I’m saying that there’s something on your generation in college, you 20- to 30-year-olds; there’s something so powerful on what God has called you into. You have been in the midst of such a battle with your mind, but God is setting something up, and I think he’s going to take the world by storm through the creatives that the world doesn’t understand, because sometimes to the church, you guys are misfits, and the church doesn’t understand you, but I’m telling you, your Creator understands you, and he wants to begin to give you the Gifts from heaven that unlock the vaults of true worship. And I really want to say that, as a mother of worship to you, run after the king. He will not disappoint you. Ask him for things that nobody’s asking him for. Ask him for movie scripts and paintings. Ask him for songs for our churches and for our congregations. Ask him for songs that hit the mainstream and save the lost. I mean, every realm of creativity. I really believe God’s doing something new, and it’s time that the church wakes up and begins to back the artist. And I believe that God is moving and doing something, and there is a well of worship on this campus that’s about to explode.”
