Radiating God’s Glory
Ryan Bomberger (SCA ’97) & Bethany (SOE ’01)
How two Regent alumni are changing the world together — for life!
Ryan Bomberger (SCA ’97) remembers the exact moment God brought his wife Bethany (SOE ’01) into his life. “We met at Regent University. It was actually a planning meeting for a benefit concert for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater,” Ryan recalls. “I walked in the room, and I asked myself, Who is that? Apparently, she felt the same way. It was love at first sight. So, I have to give Regent credit. I received a great education and had a phenomenal time of formation, and I met the love of my life there.”

That beautiful and instant connection ended up becoming the foundation for a marriage, four children (two of whom were adopted), and a powerful ministry that’s touching countless lives globally for God’s glory. In 2009, Ryan and Bethany founded The Radiance Foundation, a faith-based, life-affirming, nonprofit organization with a bold vision.

“Our mission is to illuminate the truth that every human life has inherent God-given purpose and equal worth,” Bethany explains, “Radiance Foundation also educates people about culture-shaping issues (abortion, adoption, fatherlessness, poverty, racism, gender confusion, free speech, and religious liberty) and motivates them to put truth and love into action.”
Catapulted to Almost Instant Impact
It didn’t take long for the Radiance Foundation to be “catapulted into the public eye.” During their first year for the non-profit, Ryan and Bethany created TooManyAborted.com — a campaign launched in mostly urban areas using bold and indisputable pro-life billboards and web content.
“It ignited a media frenzy. It became the most reported on pro-life billboard campaign,” Ryan says. “We are committed to saving beautiful possibilities no matter the color. Our TooManyAborted.com campaign was part of this effort, simply because there’s no demographic more impacted by abortion than those of my complexion. CDC statistics show it’s the number one killer in the black community. The campaign exposed the history of racism and eugenics that led to this drastic disparity.”
The Radiance Foundation continues to lead on this issue in court, via amicus briefs, and in the court of public opinion.
Ryan knows firsthand how important it is to value and cherish every life. “I’m the living proof and the evidence that triumph can rise from tragedy,” he told Regent students during a March 2025 chapel service. Conceived in rape and adopted into a loving multi-ethnic Christian family of 15, Ryan’s life is a testament to the beauty of adoption and the courage of birth mothers who choose life.
Fighting at the Tip of the Spear
The Bombergers’ creative, pro-life advocacy takes place at the very front lines of this spiritual battle. As an influential and sought-after voice for life, liberty, and freedom, Ryan’s 60 to 70 speaking appearances per year put him, Bethany, and the Radiance Foundation at the tip of the spear in the fight to change hearts and minds here and abroad.
“We deal with life, ‘race’ and gender. Those are the three foundational issues that the church has the hardest time approaching from a biblical perspective,” Ryan explains. “We need institutions that are biblically sound, that are unashamed of the Gospel, that are equipping leaders to know who God is, to know who they are, and how to change lives for the Kingdom.”

Through those national speaking engagements, creative ad campaigns, children’s books and curricula, and other culture-shifting initiatives, including AdoptedAndLoved.com, the Radiance Foundation equips churches, parents, teens, and communities to defend life and biblical truth with compassion and courage. But Ryan points out that their mission isn’t without opposition:
“We’ve endured some really rough times: attacks, death threats, lawsuits. And in all of it, I’m just grateful that I have a wife who loves the Lord. We know that everything we’re doing is not for us. It’s all for Him. We’ve seen how God can work through horrific experiences. And when there’s victory, we know it wasn’t us. It’s for God’s glory.”
Your Support Helps Make Frontline Ministry Efforts Possible
Ryan’s and Bethany’s Regent journey — and the ministry that has followed — were made possible, in part, by the generosity of donors. “I didn’t have a dime to my name at Regent,” Ryan remembers. “But what I did have was a passion to take the talents that God has given me and do something with it. And donors who make these scholarships possible make this kingdom pursuit possible. They made it a reality for me.”
He adds that his scholarship “was a massive blessing — a full, paid-for tuition. I would not have become the advocate and multi-award-winning creative professional I am today without my time at Regent, which was enabled by generous donors.”
Bethany’s Regent training as an educator is vital to the Radiance Foundation’s mission. She develops pro-life, pro-family, and pro-liberty children’s literature and educational resources to help shape the next generation with truth and love.
“There’s an agenda in our culture to reach children at younger and younger ages,” Bethany insists. “Children need us to shape their worldview with a biblical foundation. We have to teach them before a broken world reaches them.”
Your Generosity Paves the Road Ahead
For Ryan, the work ahead is clear: “Rescue those who are made in His image, working to bring true reconciliation and true unity that can only come through faith in Jesus. We must also affirm how God created us. His Word gives us identity, but the world gives us ‘identity crisis.’ We must affirm every person’s identity in Christ.”
As the Bombergers continue their life-affirming efforts, Ryan and Bethany remain deeply grateful for the generosity of those who invested in their Regent education. “Donors who give allow the Gospel to go into all kinds of places through all kinds of creative ways,” Ryan says. “Your generosity makes it possible for students to attend Regent, to be equipped, to be empowered, and to go change the world for God’s life-changing glory.”
