Campus Ministries: A worship group leads worship during a chapel service at Regent University, Virginia Beach.

Campus Ministries

When you become a Regent student, you join more than an academic community. You become part of a spiritual family. Students, professors and staff come alongside each other, supporting, encouraging and challenging growth in our relationship with God. A diverse community of people from many denominations, cultures, backgrounds and callings comprises the Regent family, all with an intentional focus on our shared Christ-centered values. That’s what makes us strong as we strive toward excellence in our studies, our work and our service to others.

Whether you’re studying online or on campus, you can find many ways to participate in the spiritual community at Regent. We invite you to experience the presence of God at Regent as you dive in fully to worship, pray, study, serve and connect. Explore Campus Ministries opportunities.

University Chapel

Wednesdays at 12 p.m. – Students, faculty and staff meet in the Shaw Chapel for a time of fellowship, worship and God’s Word. Chapel features multi-denominational worship for students and faculty; allowing for many Christian faith traditions to be represented through creed, music and guest speakers. University Chapels can be watched live!

UnChapel

Thursdays at 7 p.m. – The student body meets for UnChapel in the Shaw Chapel, creating a vibrant community of faith, hope and love for all Regent students — both undergraduate and graduate. UnChapel is a unifying worship experience with modern worship music, relevant teaching and an opportunity for prayer ministry at the end of each service. It is a Christian college experience that you will not want to miss! Regent students, faculty and staff are invited to watch some of our past chapels.

Every student is on a spiritual journey. Regent University Campus Ministries hopes to accompany and encourage you along the way. As believers, we are called to learn how to live and think more like Jesus in every aspect of life. Ultimately, we want to embark on the journey of growing into the image of the Son, Jesus Christ.

Vision: To be a catalyst that inspires every Regent student to live for the glory and kingdom of God.

Mission: Campus Ministries fosters Christian community, cultivates spiritual growth and equips students to fulfill The Great Commission for every vocation.

Theme for the Year: This year’s theme, “The Pursuit of Grace and Truth,” based on John 1:16-18, emphasizes God’s redemptive plan moving from common grace to special revelation. Initially revealed through the law given to Moses, which highlights our need for grace, God’s plan is fully realized in Jesus Christ, who embodies divine truth and offers abundant grace to those who believe. At Regent University Campus Ministries, we are committed to understanding and experiencing this grace and truth through Scripture and the Holy Spirit’s transformative work. Our goal is to live authentically, influence our world, and cultivate a community that grows spiritually and applies faith practically for God’s glory.

Forerunner Program Overview

The Forerunner Program is an exciting and immersive discipleship experience specifically designed for Regent University students.* It serves as the initial phase of a comprehensive three-year Discipleship Team program, focused on cultivating spiritual growth and leadership development among participants.

Objective

The program aims to empower Regent University students to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ, fostering accelerated spiritual growth, inspiring a campus-wide culture of fervent devotion, and establishing a framework for nurturing and equipping emerging leaders.

Program Highlights

Students enrolled in the Forerunner Program will have the unique opportunity to actively engage in ministry both on and off campus. As ambassadors of Christ within the campus community, they will participate in various service projects, evangelism efforts, discipleship meetings, and receive personal mentoring from experienced upperclassmen, staff and administration members.

Forerunner Meetings

Twice a month, Forerunner students will gather for impactful meetings that provide a platform for Biblical teachings, worship, and testimony sharing. These meetings will be led by two upperclassmen Team Leaders, under the guidance of the Forerunner Program Coordinator and a distinguished leader in Campus Ministries.

She finds much joy, no pun intended, in partnering with the heart of God to awaken and affirm identity in Christ for each student she is blessed to work with. She has worked in Campus Ministries for ten years. Joy serves as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministries. She holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in elementary education. She is passionate about journeying with others to know Christ deeply, encounter His transforming love and find wholeness in Him. Gabby serves as the Chapel & Administrative Coordinator and oversees Serve Teams. Her favorite parts of her job are journeying alongside students as they grow in Christ and connecting with ministry partners so they can glimpse the special transforming work God is doing in the lives of students at Regent. When she is not in school or at work, you can find her with her family or friends, enjoying rich conversations, researching international development topics, hiking, going on adventures, reading, or doing something creative.
