Regent Law Achieves U.S. News Top 100 Ranking to Become the Nation’s Fastest-Rising Law School
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Apr. 8, 2025) – Regent University School of Law has reached a historic milestone—breaking into the top 100 law schools in America for the first time. Now ranked #94 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 law school rankings, Regent Law has climbed 53 places in just four years—the fastest rise among all law schools in the country over that period.
“This is a milestone for our law school and validation of the quality of our program of legal education,” said Regent University Provost, Dr. William L. Hathaway. “It reflects the deep commitment of our university and our students, faculty, staff, and alumni to building world-changing Christian lawyers and leaders.”
Regent University is principled in its integration of faith and world-class instruction, enabling students to view their studies through a lens of meaning and purpose.
“Regent Law has risen further and faster than almost anyone thought possible,” said Brad Lingo, dean of Regent University School of Law. “Regent Law’s renaissance shows that a law school can be both committed to a Christ-centered mission and academically excellent. In fact, it’s the commitment to our mission that draws outstanding students and world-class faculty to our law school and fuels our success.”
The 2025-26 Best Law Schools Rankings measured nearly 200 law schools that are accredited and fully approved by the American Bar Association.
“Our student outcomes are stronger than ever. We just set a new all-time best with 93% of our graduates obtaining full-credit ABA jobs within ten months of graduation, and we were top 40 in the nation for first-time bar passage last year,” said Ernie Walton, associate dean of Regent University School of Law.
Dean Lingo added, “Our strong student outcomes result from our commitment to professor accessibility, high-quality teaching, and fostering a supportive community where students are truly known. When those values become part of a law school’s culture, as they have at Regent Law, strong outcomes follow.”
This recognition is just the latest in a series of accolades achieved by Regent Law, including:
- 2nd in the Nation (tied) for Professors’ Accessibility by The Princeton Review, 2024
- 9th in the Nation (tied) for Teaching Quality by The Princeton Review, 2024
- 3rd Best Value Private Law School by National Jurist’s preLaw Magazine, 2024
