Savor your college experience by ensuring you stay fueled on campus! Regent’s Meal Plan program allows students to use allotted “Meal Swipes” at The Ordinary Cafe and “Royal Dollars” towards three on-campus services: The Ordinary Cafe, 77 Coffeehouse and the Regent Gift Shop. Your Meal Swipe and Royal Dollar allowance, as allocated through your specific plan option, can be redeemed for a certain amount of goods at the previously mentioned locations Monday – Friday. Please see below for information about meal plan options and redeemable goods.

Meal Plan Options

Blue Meal Plan

  • Enjoy 5 Meal Swipes per week
  • Includes $600 Royal Dollars
  • Cost: $1,500 per semester 

Green Meal Plan

  • Enjoy 10 Meal Swipes per week
  • Includes $500 Royal Dollars
  • Cost: $2,500 per semester 

Gold Meal Plan

  • Enjoy 15 Meal Swipes per week
  • Includes $400 Royal Dollars
  • Cost: $3,500 per semester 

Meal Swipes

With Meal Swipes, you can enjoy up to 15 meals per week at Regent’s on-campus dining hall, the Ordinary Cafe.

A complete meal from the all-you-can eat breakfast buffet. Buffet includes:

  • Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, grits, oatmeal
  • Fresh fruit, cereal bar, waffle bar
  • Rotating main breakfast items (e.g., pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy)
  • Beverages: juice, coffee, milk

A complete meal from the à la carte menu OR all-you-can eat lunch buffet. Buffet includes:

  • Salad Bar
  • Two proteins
  • Starch
  • Vegetable
  • Dessert
  • Beverages: soda, tea

Royal Dollars

With Royal Dollars, you get the ultimate freedom to enjoy campus life your way. Use them at the Regent Gift Shop, 77 Coffeehouse, or for à la carte options at the Regent Ordinary. Whether it’s grabbing your favorite coffee, a quick snack, or campus apparel, Royal Dollars makes it easy to enhance your daily experience. Included with every meal plan, they’re designed to give you more choices and flexibility.

The Ordinary Cafe offers a variety of beverage and food options from the à la carte menu, from artisanal sandwiches and soups to tasty appetizers and mouthwatering desserts. This is a great option if you only want a quick bite but don’t want to use a full meal swipe.

77 Coffeehouse is a unique gathering place for the Regent community. The number “77” is a nod to not only Regent’s founding year, but the many other “7’s” in our story.

The Regent Gift Shop serves as the official apparel and gear store for Regent University. The Regent Gift Shop, available online or in-store, seeks to cultivate an enthusiastic community, dedicated to Regent’s mission of changing the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Meal Plans are Available at Regent University?

Regent University offers three meal plan options:

  • Blue Meal Plan: 5 meals per week + $600 Royal Dollars ($1,500/semester)
  • Green Meal Plan: 10 meals per week + $500 Royal Dollars ($2,500/semester)
  • Gold Meal Plan: 15 meals per week + $400 Royal Dollars ($3,500/semester) 

These plans can be used at The Ordinary Cafe, 77 Coffeehouse, and the Regent Gift Shop.

What are Royal Dollars, and How Can I Use Them?

Royal Dollars are flexible funds included with each meal plan. This helps students avoid using a meal swipe if they want a quick snack or entrée from the Ordinary without getting a meal. They can also use the dollars for items at 77 Coffeehouse or Regent Gift Shop.

Where Can I Use My Meal Swipes?

Meal swipes are valid at The Ordinary Cafe for all-you-can eat buffets:

  • Breakfast Buffet: Includes eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, grits, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cereal bar, waffle bar, rotating main items (e.g., pancakes, French toast), and beverages like juice, coffee, and milk.
  • Lunch and Dinner Buffets: Include a salad bar, two proteins, starch, vegetables, dessert, and beverages like soda and tea.

 Can I Change or Cancel My Meal Plan?

  • Changes: Requests Must Be submitted through StarRez by 5 p.m. on the first Friday of the semester. Changes will not take effect until approved by Student Services.
  • Cancellations: If canceled by 5 p.m. on the first Friday of classes, any used meal swipes or Royal Dollars will be charged to your account based on usage.

After this period, dining plan changes are only permitted between fall and spring semesters.

Do Unused Meal Swipes or Royal Dollars Roll Over?

Unused meal swipes and Royal Dollars included with a meal plan do not roll over and are non-refundable. However, independently purchased Royal Dollars roll over from fall to spring but expire at the end of the spring semester.

Are Meal Plans Active During Breaks?

No, meal plans are not in effect during fall, Thanksgiving, winter, or spring breaks. Service may also be suspended if the campus is closed due to emergencies or other urgent circumstances.

How Do I Sign Up for a Meal Plan?

You can sign up for a meal plan through the MyRegent Portal. If you’re using federal financial aid, complete the Federal Aid Authorization Form under Financial Aid > Resources to authorize payment.

Who is Eligible for Meal Plans?

Meal plan eligibility is based on student status and registration. Changes in status or registration within the academic year may result in removal from the meal plan program, with any remaining balances prorated.

Meal Plan Terms & Conditions:

  • Students using federal financial aid must complete the Federal Aid Authorization Form in the My Regent Portal under Financial Aid > Resources to authorize payment.
  • The selected dining plan remains in effect for the entire academic year (fall and spring semesters). Meal services will be available only during the designated hours set by Student Services. Meal plans are not in effect during fall, Thanksgiving, winter, or spring breaks. Service may also be suspended if the campus is closed due to an emergency or other urgent circumstances. Unused meal swipes and Royal Dollars attached to a meal plan do not roll over. No credit adjustments or refunds will be provided for unused Meal Swipes or Royal Dollars, even in the event of unexpected closures.
  • Requests for dining plan changes must be submitted to Student Services through StarRez no later than 5 p.m. on the first Friday of the semester to be considered. Changes will not take effect until approved. After this period, dining plan changes are only permitted between fall and spring semesters.
  • If a meal plan is canceled by 5pm the first Friday of classes, any Meal Swipes or Royal Dollars used will be charged to the student’s account based on the daily meal swipe rate and Royal dollar amount used.
  • Payment for the dining plan must be made by the payment deadline or at the time of adding/increasing a plan—whichever is later. Deadlines align with tuition and housing payment schedules.
  • Independently purchased Royal Dollars roll over from fall to spring but expire at the end of the spring semester. No credits or refunds will be given for unused funds after that deadline.
  • Student meal plan eligibility is based on student status and registration. Any changes in status and registration within the academic year may result in removal from the meal plan program. Any remaining balances will be prorated.
